No Waydrives are actually seen in-game, so their appearance, and certain details of how they work, are still covered in mystery. These include enabling the Tattletail's hair/fur to become untidy and enabling it to feel hungry. A Waydrive is implanted in each of the Baby Talking Tattletail toys and, as mentioned by the cassette tape which is found inside the Kaleidoscope, this device is what gives the Tattletail toy its life-like qualities. The Waydrive is an electrical component or device invented by Waygetter Electronics. Occasionally he must also be recharged in order to keep functioning. The tuft of fur on the top of his head is able to be brushed, and he can also eat real food - said food goes into eggs that Tattletail is capable of laying, and these are left scattered all over the house. In addition to this, Tattletail is able to speak, respond, and react to the environment around him, almost appearing sentient in this way. He also has an egg hole on the bottom of his model and a small tuft of hair on his head alongside a very-hard-to-see sharp-ended tail. He appears to wear leg warmers that are usually difficult to notice at first. Tattletail's fur can come in many different colors, and he is shown to be available in purple, yellow, and blue colors in the game. He has a small heart-shaped nose and large blue eyes with purple-blue eyelids, complete with large, pointed ears resembling those of Furbies. Tattletail is somewhat small and has an egg-shaped body with small, human-like feet and a cat-like face.
